Blober

Cloud transfer

Upload files from Local Drive to Dropbox

Any folder your machine can see: an SD card out of a camera, a USB drive, an external disk or a NAS share on the network. Blober uploads the files straight into Dropbox, so nothing has to sit on a drive in between.

How the transfer works

Three steps between Local Drive and Dropbox.

  1. 1

    Connect Local Drive and Dropbox

Add both accounts in Blober and sign in on your own machine. Credentials stay local; nothing is proxied through a server.

  2. 2

    Choose what moves

Browse Local Drive, filter by folder, date or type, then set the folder it should land in on Dropbox.

  3. 3

    Start and walk away

Blober runs transfers in parallel, resumes after a dropped connection, and reports every file it moved.

Both ends, connected properly

Managed accounts, not a shared folder and not a workaround.

Source

Local Drive

Any folder your machine can see: an SD card out of a camera, a USB drive, an external disk or a NAS share on the network.

Destination

Dropbox

Dropbox keeps a folder synced across devices plus a web account. Its file store is what Blober reads and writes when you move a Dropbox tree elsewhere.

Why upload files from Local Drive to Dropbox with Blober

Cloud-to-cloud copying without a server in the middle, a script to maintain, or a per-gigabyte bill.

No download and re-upload
Files stream between the two accounts, so the library never has to fit on your disk first.
One-time licence
No per-transfer fees and no storage tiers of its own, just the price of the app.
Resumable by default
A dropped connection pauses the run instead of restarting it, and failed files retry.
Credentials stay local
Blober talks to both providers from your machine, so your logins are never held elsewhere.

Local Drive to Dropbox: questions

What people ask before moving files between these two.

How do I upload files from Local Drive to Dropbox?

Install Blober for desktop, connect both accounts, choose Local Drive as the source and Dropbox as the destination, then start the transfer. Blober lists what it can see first, so you can pick folders before anything moves.

Can I transfer from Local Drive to Dropbox without downloading the files?

Yes. Blober streams each file from Local Drive to Dropbox instead of saving it to your disk and uploading it again. You do not need the free space, and nothing is left behind in a temporary folder.

Is there a file size or transfer limit?

No. Blober does not cap file size, file count or total volume, and it does not charge per transfer. The only limits are the ones your Local Drive and Dropbox plans already have.

What happens if the connection drops part way through?

Blober resumes. It retries failed files and continues from where it stopped, so a long migration does not have to start again from zero.

Are the folders and file names preserved?

Yes. Blober recreates the source structure at the destination. You can also apply a path template to sort files by date, type or size as they land, which helps when the source is a camera roll rather than a tidy folder tree.

Does my computer need to stay on?

Yes. Blober is a desktop app, so the transfer runs on your machine between your two accounts. That is also why your credentials never leave it.

How much does Blober cost?

Blober is a one-time licence, not a subscription. There are no per-transfer fees and no storage tiers of its own: you pay once, and every provider is included.
